About Us
Owner Dwight Tucker got involved in the plumbing trade around the age of 12 years old. He started off working in his past employer Junius H. Burrows Plumbing store, maintaining inventory and assisting customers as well as the store staff with whatever they’d task him with. Dwight would often express to his boss that he was very eager to work as an apprentice under the firm's team of plumbing technicians. When the opportunity arose to get out into the field working alongside the technicians it was apparent quickly that he was a fast learner. By the time Dwight turned 16 his boss would send him out in the field alone to the odd repair job, traveling on his 50cc moped with his own tools and necessary materials.
After graduating high school Dwight was immediately enrolled into the plumbing course at the Bermuda College. He completed the program at 19 years old with a certificate in Plumbing technology. Even though he was now certified in the trade he would attribute the majority of his knowledge and experience to on the job learning.
Shortly after completing his course he would pursue an opportunity with Bermuda Sanitation & Engineering where he would learn more in depth about the sanitation side of plumbing. Due to his old boss request he rejoined the firm at Junius H. Burrows Plumbing where he would move up as the main plumber within the company. Dwight stayed with the firm until he was 21 years old before leaving to pursue a lifelong dream career as a firefighter within the Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service. Even though Dwight had changed careers he still found himself working in the trade on his days off and even going back to his old firm periodically part time. In 2016, with the encouragement from some special friends and family Dwight would launch his very own business DT Plumbing, and the rest is history.
